A dedicated human rights advocate with 10 years of international experience working in civil society, government and community activism, Betsy has deep expertise in cross-cutting fields within human rights sectors in Asia, Europe and the U.S. Her expertise in human rights focuses on Internet freedom and human rights online, women’s empowerment, gender-based violence, forced labor, human trafficking and modern slavery. A few examples of her program experience include, digital safety for human rights defenders, field research on rural forced labor, human trafficking victim identification and street outreach, child protection, organizational development and strategic planning.

Throughout her work, she brings a special emphasis on partnership models for collaborative development and rights-based community empowerment. She has lived and worked on programs as an implementer in Cambodia, India, Nepal, Vietnam, Laos and The Netherlands.
